About
A structured training for Sea Turtle Oversight Protection Hatchling Rescue & Recovery staff members. Volunteers move through steps covering core turtle biology, mating & nesting behavior, history of conservation, threats & survivorship, and light pollution. A critical portion of this training is beach rescue protocols, with emphasis on the rescue staff field manual so you can respond safely, consistently, and in line with FWC permit conditions and S.T.O.P. guidelines during nesting and hatchling season. This is a self-paced course, but all steps must be completed before you begin any shifts on the beach.
